MAPS 4 College Offers Free Relationship Workshops

December 1, 2010 – Baldwin Park, CA – MAPS 4 College’s “SPICES” program will continue to offer free relationship workshops and courses to residents throughout the New Year. The courses will be made available to youth, couples, and families.

The staff from MAPS “SPICES” program will teach personal and social skills that are necessary for youth and adults to develop health and beneficial relationships that are based on mutual trust, consideration, and effective communication.

According to the “SPICES” program coordinator, Celia Fletes, “these courses will help youth, couples, and families become better able to recognize the role that relationship skills play in developing and maintaining healthy relationships either in a personal level or in the workforce.”

She said, “We target core interpersonal issues that individuals may face and help teach techniques on how to combat those issues.” The program’s goal is to develop growth of self awareness and the sustainability of healthy relationships. Workshop titles and number of hours needed to complete them  are listed below:

Luv U2(8-hours)

Family Wellness (8-hours)
